What’s the difference between coaching and therapy?
Therapy is a healthcare service that can assess, diagnose and treat mental-health conditions, and it often explores the past to understand the present.
Coaching is focused on the present and the future: your goals, strengths, skills, accountability and forward movement. Heart 2 Heart provides coaching only. It does not diagnose or treat any mental-health condition.
Do I need an ADHD diagnosis to work on executive function?
No. Many people struggle with time management, procrastination, planning and follow-through, with or without a diagnosis. Coaching focuses on practical skills and systems. It doesn’t diagnose or treat ADHD, and it isn’t a replacement for care from a medical or mental-health provider.
Who is Heart 2 Heart for?
Adults, and especially women, who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or frustrated by the gap between what they intend to do and what actually happens. If you’re ready to try new strategies and practice them between sessions, coaching can be a great fit.
What happens in the free consultation?
It’s a relaxed conversation about what’s going on, what you’d like to change, and what working together would look like. There’s no pressure to sign up. If coaching isn’t the right fit, Dana will tell you so.
How long are sessions, and how often do we meet?
Sessions are 50 minutes. Most clients meet weekly or every other week, and we’ll decide on a rhythm together based on your goals.
Are sessions in person or online?
Sessions are held by secure video, so you can join from wherever you are.
How much does coaching cost? Do you take insurance?
Coaching is private pay. Because coaching isn’t a healthcare service, it isn’t billed to insurance. Pricing is discussed during your free consultation.
I have a current or past therapy relationship with Dana. Can I switch to coaching?
Please mention it when you reach out. A therapy relationship and a coaching relationship are very different, and in many cases moving from one to the other isn’t appropriate. Dana will talk through the options with you honestly.
What if I’m in crisis?
Coaching isn’t a crisis service. If you are in immediate danger, call 911. If you’re in the U.S. and need to talk to someone right now, call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, available 24/7.
Ready to stop feeling stuck?
You don’t need to change everything at once. Sometimes the first step is having someone help you figure out what that first step should be.
